We have booked some rooms in the Traders Hong Kong Hotel and the Ramada Hong Kong Hotel at special room rates for the participants joining our Forum.

VISA Application

The current immigration authority suggests that the situation in 2011 would not be much different from that before the "Hand Over". That means,
  1. you may not need a visa for the conference visit if you are from North America, Western Europe, or Japan;
  2. if you normally need a visa to enter Hong Kong, you should go through the Hong Kong section of the China Embassy/Consulate.

Transportation

(A) From Airport to Hotels

Take the Airport Express to the Hong Kong Station. It takes about 24 minutes and it costs HK$100 (about US$13).
Take a taxi to the hotels. It takes about 10 minutes and it costs about HK$40 (US$5). To help the taxi driver locating the hotel, you may download the map from following homepage,

(B) From Train Station to Hotels

If entered Hong Kong by train, you should have reached either "Lo Wu" or "Hung Hom" as your first station. In any case, please follow the MTR system map to reach either the Central Station or the Sheung Wai Station and change a taxi. Remember to specify to the driver that the hotel is in the Western District. It takes about 10 minutes and costs about HK$40 (US$5).

(C) Travelling to the University

  1. If you come by taxi, please show this map to the taxi driver to ensure the taxi driver would not get lost within the HKU Campus.
