Hong Kong government has just announced the ending of the hotel quarantine measure for visitors, but there are still important factors to note:

Who are considered fully-vaccinated?

  • Fully vaccinated means the suggested dosage has been administered in accordance with the "List of COVID-19 Vaccines Recognised for Specified Purposes" of a COVID-19 vaccination course at least 14 days prior to the day of departure for Hong Kong.
  • For most vaccines, 2 doses are required. The vaccines that require other than 2 doses are:
    • ZF2001 from Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical: 3 doses
    • Convidecia from CanSinoBIO: 1 dose
    • Janssen Ad26.COV2.S (COVID-19) vaccine: 1 dose
  • Recovered persons: For persons who was previously infected with COVID-19, they will be required to receive one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the day of departure for Hong Kong in order to be considered as fully vaccinated.
  • Persons aged between 12 and 17 on the scheduled day of departure: those who have received one dose of Comirnaty vaccine at least 14 days prior to the day of departure for Hong Kong are deemed to have complied with the requirements of completing the COVID-19 vaccination course under boarding requirements.
  • The Government recommends persons who have fulfilled vaccination requirement to declare their vaccination records in order to comply with the requirement to be issued the Provisional Vaccine Pass at https://www.chp.gov.hk/vac-df/

Before arrival at Hong Kong

  • Negative RAT test within 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure
  • Fully vaccinated: List of recognised COVID19 vaccines
  • Complete online Health Declaration Form
  • You will receive Green Health Declaration QR code to be used for check-in
  • A guide for Health Declaration Form registration
    1. You can do this within 96 hours before departure (if you arrive at the airport) and 24 hours (if you arrive at the land control points).
    2. Go to https://www.chp.gov.hk/hdf/
    3. Click "Submit Health Declaration Form"

    5. Click the arrival port (generally it is Hong Kong International Airport)

    9. Fill the information
      1. Personal information such as name, date of birth, nationality, etc.
      2. Identity card number: Hong Kong ID or Passport number
      3. Flight itinerary

      5. Travel and COVID-19 history

      7. Contact information
      8. HDF_6
      9. Continue to the next page: mostly they will ask your consents and confirmation.
      10. In the end, you will get the green code as shown below:

At the Hong Kong Airport

  • PCR test: test and go (you can leave before getting the test result)
  • Using public transportation is okay

After arrival within 3 days: under medical surveillance

  • Amber Code with restrictions: Basically, can attend meeting, take public transport, go to supermarket with a mask etc., but cannot enter the places like restaurants (take away is okay), gym, bar, etc.
  • Daily self-taken RATs
  • Compulsory PCR tests on Day 2 (available at walking distance from the conference venue)

After 3 days (only for those who stayed outside mainland China and Macao)

  • Self-monitoring in the subsequent 4 days
  • Daily self-taken RATs until day 7

What happens if PCR test is positive

  • Will receive SMS to fill the form
  • Undergo home quarantine for 7 days
  • RATs on Day 6 and Day 7
  • If negative, quarantine finished
