Welcome to professor Xiaodong Cui`s research group in the physics department at the University of Hong Kong. We are interested in experimental solid state physics with an emphasis on characterizations and applications of nanoscale materials. Nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes, nanowires and molecular nanostructures enable the exploration of the fundamental physics in nanoscale dimensions, as well as the potential applications of nanoscale electronics and photonic devices. The fabrication and characterization of these nanostructures have been made possible with the aid of chemistry, microelectronics, scanning probe microscopy, and optical measurements.
