Announcement

We are pleased to announce that "Hong Kong Forum of Physics 2018: Recent Progress in Quantum Matter - Theories and Experiments" will be held at the University of Hong Kong, January 7-9, 2019, which is the 10th one of this Forum series since 2006 (information about previous events can be found here).

Recently, there has been a profound progress in the field of quantum matter where the bizarre consequences of quantum physics manifest in a wide range of energy and length and can be further engineered by design. The relevant research area is growing fast and requires close collaborations between the researchers from both theoretical and experimental sectors. This year's Forum, therefore, will bring together the active researchers from both sectors to share their new findings and ideas in Hong Kong with a particular focus on exotic quantum materials including graphene and 2D materials, Topological materials and Correlated systems, Spin liquids and Frustrated magnetisms, and more. We expect to have several dozens of key experts from North America, Europe, Mainland China, Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong to participate in the Forum, as well as tens of students and postdoctoral fellows to attend the Forum. We hope this Forum will promote collaborations among the participants and also present young physicists with interesting and exciting future research directions.
