Information for Visitor


VISA Application

If you have a close connection with the HKSAR by birth or long period of residence in the Region, you may not require a visa or entry permit. 
Please read Part I of visa requirement webpage of the Hong Kong Immigration Department.

If you are not in the group as stated in Part I of the page, you may need a visa or entry permit for visit depending on your nationality / type of travel document you hold. 
Please read Part II of visa requirement webpage of the Hong Kong Immigration Department.

Transportation

The Department of Physics locates at Chong Yuet Ming Physics Building (CYP) in HKU main campus.

(A) Public Transportation to HKU Main Campus

There are different buses and mini-buses that can take you to the campus in the following routes:

(B) From Airport

Take the Airport Express Train to Hong Kong Station

Then interchange for

Option 1: Island Line of MTR train (Kennedy Town Direction) to HKU Station OR;
Option 2: Taxi [Duration: about 10 minutes; Fee: about HK$40 (US$5)]

For easy reference to locate CYP building, you may refer to the map here 

 

(C) From Train Station

If you enter Hong Kong by train, you should have reached either "Lo Wu" or "Hung Hom" as your first station. 

In any case, please follow the MTR system map to reach either Central Station

Then interchange for

Option 1:Island Line of MTR train (Kennedy Town Direction) to HKU Station OR;
Option 2: Taxi [Duration: about 10 minutes; Fee: about HK$40 (US$5)]
