Technical Officer / Senior Technical Assistant / Senior Laboratory Assistant in the Department of Physics (Ref: 533399) (to commence as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or above in Physical Sciences, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 2 to 5 years of technical support experience. Applicants should have good communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, passion and interest in instrumentation and machining, and be well adapted to teamwork. Experience in providing technical support to physical science or engineering laboratory will be advantageous. Holders of an Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma with relevant experience are also welcome to apply. Those with less qualification and experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Assistant or Senior Laboratory Assistant.
The appointee will be responsible for maintaining of research facilities, a small workshop in the Department, teaching laboratories, apparatus repairs; and handling reimbursement, collaborating with several experimental teams across various fields of Physics, and will also perform any other duties as assigned. Technical officer will also supervise the technician team.
